The West Houston Security Coalition began in 2004 as an alliance of business organizations, which share a common concern -- the lack of adequate police manpower in West Houston.
The founding members of this coalition include the Energy Corridor Management District, Houston West Chamber of Commerce, Memorial City Management District, Uptown Houston, Westchase District and West Houston Medical Center.
At a time when crime is increasing in West Houston, police manpower here is actually decreasing. This is unacceptable. We are asking the City of Houston to rectify the manpower situation through the re-allocation of EXISTING police resources.
This problem affects not only the business community, but also the neighborhoods where we live. It is having a detrimental affect on our quality of life and our home values. We invite other community organizations, business organizations, and individuals to join our effort.
